Derrek Lee is a first baseman who has played for the Chicago Cubs since 2004. From 1997 through 2003, Lee played with the San Diego Padres (1997) and the Florida Marlins (1998-2003). He bats and throws right-handed. Lee was drafted in the first round (14th overall) of the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres, and made his major league debut on April 28, 1997. Lee was traded to the Cubs for Hee Seop Choi. On April 10, 2006, Lee signed a five-year, $65 million extension with the Chicago Cubs.
